News > FIFA 21 tournaments coming to IGGalaxy!
The next edition of FIFA in the series will welcome with it opportunities for both Playstation and Xbox players and teams to enter FIFA 21 IGGalaxy tournaments, to compete for Intergalactic glory, and some great prizes!
IGGalaxy is a social competitive gaming platform in early public beta. With the upcoming FIFA 21 competitive season, we look forward to providing a fun environment for FIFA players to socialise, compete and showcase their FIFA talents to other gamers within the ecosystem!
FIFA 21 tournaments available in IGGalaxy soon!
FIFA 21 is the latest edition of EA Sport’s sports simulator game. FIFA boasts a number of offline and online game modes, from Volta to Ultimate Team.
From an esport perspective, top-level competitive FIFA focuses on the Ultimate Team game mode; a mode that allows FIFA players to assemble a hybrid of team of players from various leagues, teams, and even generations.
Due to the ‘pay-to-win’ and solo nature of Ultimate Team, though, we believe that the mode with the greatest potential for FIFA esports is Pro Clubs. This mode is much more realistic, allowing gamers to create their own pro player and either join or create a team of up to 11 players.
Initial Release Date: 6 October 2020
IGGalaxy will provide competitions for the three online game modes:
For Online and FUT Friendlies, we can combine Squad Rules and House Rules to offer a range of limited-time competitions that change throughout the season. Pro Clubs will allow us to offer a range of team-based competitions for the massive community revolving around this game mode.
IGGalaxy will provide frequent FIFA 21 tournaments for players to sharpen their skills, meet and socialise with other FIFA 21 players and receive great IGG rewards. These tournaments will allow us to develop FIFA communities by region, with the possibility of cross-regional tournaments later on in the IG developmental roadmap.
As this season progresses, though, IGGalaxy remains dedicated to providing more formats, features and components that contribute to a well-established FIFA esports ecosystem.
In October, we will begin hosting our regular FIFA 21 competitions. However, towards the end of the month, we aim to host our first FIFA 21 competition series for both Playstation and Xbox players. As FIFA is not cross-platform compatible, these will be two separate series’ — just as we did last season.
There will be a separate article on this competition series closer to the date.

Last month, we announced that we were migrating IGGalaxy’s blockchain infrastructure from TRON to Matic Network, Ethereum’s Layer 2 scaling solution. Our developers have since been implementing the necessary features for TRC20 IG Gold (IGG) holders to convert their tokens to the ERC20 standard, so we can begin the next phase of our journey on Matic’s thriving ecosystem.

This week, we host our first FIFA 21 tournaments for PS4 and Xbox players in Europe as we carry out our final preparations for our upcoming IGGalaxy esports tournament series! Also, don’t forget that we’ve already confirmed a brand new game to feature in IGGalaxy this month: Rocket League, which we expect will go live towards the latter end of next week!

We concluded the weekend with the release of our IGGalaxy LitePaper v2.0, a document that serves to provide a greater insight into what we are building, and should be viewed as supplementary to our ‘IGGalaxy Token Economics v1.0’ document.
