News > Intergalactic Gaming's Progress Update 05 03 2020
We are now heading into the fifth month since we launched our competitive gaming platform’s public beta and we are extremely pleased to share that we have exceeded 10,000 signed up users in IGGalaxy!
In Q1 2020, we launched competitive support for two very popular esports games in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Fortnite. This was later extended to Infinity Ward's recently released Call of Duty battle royale game, Warzone.
Since lock down measures have been in place, we have significantly ramped up our online esports tournament operations, organising 48 tournaments in April alone. Now, we have new users entering IGGalaxy and existing ones returning on a daily basis, evidencing a very successful start to the new year.
During this time, we would like to extend our thanks to everyone involved in IGGalaxy, from our employees to our community who have been nothing short of fantastic in supporting the building of the next-gen digital esports economy.
Today, we are back with another progress report, mainly focused around April but also providing a number of other pertinent updates for our community. Enjoy!
The IGGalaxy, our social competitive gaming platform.
We will kick-start this progress report with an update on some key metrics for the IGG token economy. April was an exciting month as we reached an incredible milestone of 1,000,000 IGG (TRC20) transfers since January 2019!

Please note, every month we burn 50% of ORB sold back to IGLabs. The remaining 50% is sent to Intergalactic Gaming’s cold storage wallet. April saw 21,648,038.5 ORB burned from existence! You can see the burn transaction here.
On 24 December 2019, we launched our public beta phase of development. This phase involves the continuous deployment and testing of new features as we expand IGGalaxy. We are now at a point that we are stress-testing our infrastructure through the gradual acquisition of users and increase in online tournament size and frequency.
This testing and optimisation is occurring for both solo and team-based tournaments across the esports games currently supported in IGGalaxy. This has allowed us to receive valuable feedback from our users at a pivotal moment in development. We have also begun internal testing of IGGalaxy’s dispute manager, a core component to our unique moderating system, as well as building upon chat features that will be released shortly.
As the number of tournaments increase, there will always be requirements for moderators to support the organisation and efficiency of tournaments. Moderators can contribute significantly to the experience of players as they participate in tournaments and the lack of an effective moderator can make the management of larger tournaments quite difficult, thus negatively effecting the users experience on the platform.
As a result, we will be deploying a moderating system that will facilitate a transparent and rewarding mechanism for moderators to support competition organisers. This component of IGGalaxy will enable significant scaling of tournaments hosted by ourselves and through the upcoming tournament creation module. This will allow those organising their own tournaments in IGGalaxy to leverage this system to reward experienced and reputable moderators to support the management of their event.
We aim to release a separate article providing a more greater insight into platform development updates.
Please note: We have been given confirmation that our partners Carbon are expected to resume services by June 2020. In the meantime, we will also explore alternative providers.
As we have begun increasing the number of tournaments and direct marketing of IGGalaxy to our target market over the last two months, we are extremely pleased to share that our user base has exceeded 10,000! Over the last month, we have seen 4,716 new users join IGGalaxy.
There has been a clear indication of users enjoying their time, returning and bringing their friends!
IGGalaxy competitive gaming platform user growth during public beta phase
These new users are gamers, teams and clans who are joining to compete in our tournaments for FIFA, Fortnite and Call of Duty. They are new to cryptocurrencies but many are creating new cryptocurrency wallets, earning IGG rewards for participating. In fact, in April, over 90% of users who came to participate in our tournaments created TRON wallets and are now beginning to adopt cryptocurrencies.
IGGalaxy reaches 10,000 sign ups!
Below, we have provided a number of insightful metrics into the first five months of IGGalaxy’s public beta phase.
These metrics are from 24/12/2019 to 04/05/2020.
As IGGalaxy expands, more partners will begin to leverage the ecosystem we are building as we work collectively towards bringing people together through competitive gaming. For F1FA Sake/For G4mer Sake and Mixtape Madness have both hosted their first tournaments in IGGalaxy.
On Thursday 30 April, Wall of Comedy became the third, hosting their first FIFA 20 Classic Online tournament — another hugely successful event! Naturally, when the tournament creation module is deployed, we will see more use of IGGalaxy to organise esports competitions.
You will be seeing a lot more of our current and future partners as IGGalaxy expands.
Wall of Comedy will host their first tournament in IGGalaxy!
Who are Wall of Comedy? Wall of Comedy was launched as an online platform, featuring on YouTube, Facebook and Instagram. Wall of Comedy has produced many original and viral comedy formats, which include; Group Chat, Questions with Yung Filly, Who’s the Daddy, Who’s Got Game and features some of the UK’s leading social media content creators. Since its launch, Wall of Comedy has amassed over 3.5 billion views and reaches over 120 million viewers each week.
This is another milestone in our quest to establish IGGalaxy as the competitive gaming platform! With over 24.5k followers on Twitter, 722k followers on Instagram, almost 20k followers on Facebook, and 491k YouTube subscribers, this event will offer fantastic exposure for IGGalaxy, whilst further validating our value proposition.
In March, we concluded round two of our IGG token sale to support the execution of our road map whilst we continue to build on our public beta, begin acquiring users and continuing to negotiate private investment.
This token sale, along with other actions our co-founders have taken, was for the key purpose of extending our runway so that we can progress further in our roadmap before obtaining private fundraising. By doing so, we strengthen our position when negotiating with investors. By demonstrating our vision with tangible results, we are in a much better position to execute our vision.
We believe IGG tokens are undervalued in secondary markets right now and we are not in need to continue with the subsequent planned rounds. The traction we have already demonstrated shows where we are heading, particularly as further utility is introduced to the many thousands of Galacticans we expect to see enter over the coming year. If you wish to purchase IGG tokens, you must do so from secondary markets such as PoloniDEX and TronTrade.
Please note: We still have an ongoing GFT sale. This token is limited in quantity, providing the holder with some cool benefits such as lifetime subscription to IGGalaxy. You can read more about this sale here.
As with many of you and many other businesses around the world, the outbreak has caused disruption to us over the last few months. Everyone involved in the business has been incredibly supportive and despite all the issues the coronavirus has brought, it has also provided solidarity and opportunities; with our family now as strong as ever.
As lockdown and self-isolation continues, we have pushed forward our timelines and work harder than ever to use our public beta as a safe space where gamers and teams can play their favourite games competitively and earn rewards. Through our competitions, we have worked around the clock to provide fun, rewards and entertainment to thousands during a difficult time for everyone.
We do not know how long these measures will be in place but we can foresee consumer behaviour changing as a result of this crisis. Furthermore, with the global economy coming to a stand-still, we believe there could be a looming recession. We would like to reiterate to our community that these macro-shifts in the global landscape create opportunities for IGGalaxy. The video games industry is typically immune to pandemics and recessions. In fact, video games are the best form of entertainment and can be engaged with online, so the industry does well in such climates.
It has been a while since we have taken feedback and questions from our community for our co-founders to answer. We appreciate many of you have questions and so we would like to provide a platform for you to ask those questions and provide invaluable feedback for us.
Please submit your questions and feedback in the Typeform below. We will select at least five questions to answer and send a 50,000 IGG reward to anyone whose question we select.
If you have participated in any of these competitions, you will know our tournament moderators work extremely hard to ensure operations run smoothly and the needs of the players are met.
As we progress through our developmental road map, adding further features to the platform and support for more esports games, our user base will only increase. As hard as our tournament admins work, we must ensure that we scale our tournament moderators proportionately to the increase of participants.
Next week, we will send an email to users that wish to register their interest in testing the first version of our moderating system.

BlackSalt Coreuption has been confirmed as an upcoming game to be supported in IGGalaxy, following its release. There has also been significant demand for the inclusion of mobile games. Considering mobile games account for almost 50% of the total video games market, their inclusion will attract a wider demographic of users as we strive to significantly increase the number of gamers adopting IGGalaxy. Let us know in the tweet above if there are any games that you play and would love to see tournaments for in IGGalaxy?
Thanks for reading our progress update and we really look forward to sharing a lot more with you in the near future!

We launched our social competitive gaming platform’s public beta on 26 December 2019, and hosted our first 32-player FIFA 20 tournaments two days later. Our developers have scrupulously tested the platform’s ability to cope with a steady increase of users interacting with both the platform’s competitive elements, as well as the freezing mechanism in IGLabs.
